Films worth carrying

This is not a ranked list or a review database. It is a shelf for films that stayed with me—because of an idea, a character, a visual language, or the way they changed a question.

The collection is being assembled. Each entry will include the reason it belongs here rather than only a rating.

The format

Every film note will answer a few simple questions:

  • What remained after the credits?
  • Which decision or character made the film work?
  • What did it reveal about ambition, systems, relationships, or responsibility?
  • Who would I recommend it to, and at what moment in their life?

Stories about building

Films about invention, obsession, craft, entrepreneurship, and the cost of creating something difficult.

Systems and power

Films that make institutions, incentives, technology, politics, or collective behaviour visible.

Human decisions

Stories where one choice changes a life, a relationship, or an entire system.

Visual worlds

Films worth revisiting for composition, sound, atmosphere, production design, or a singular cinematic language.

Comfort rewatches

The films I return to without needing a reason.

When the shelf is populated, every title will link to its official or reference page and include a short personal note. No algorithmic recommendations—only films that earned their place.

The broader personal story lives in My Story.
